Addressing RSVP envelope from wedding invitation?

Wednesday Aug 19, 2009

I bought a wedding invitation kit and I am trying to complete the envelopes. The example has the person that I am mailing the invitation to their address on the front of the RSVP envelope. Can this be right if they are mailing it back to me? Definitely YOUR address goes on the front of the reply envelope.

Wedding Invitations Wording

Wednesday Jul 22, 2009

Wedding invitation selection and design is complete. You have decided on the perfect wedding invitation kit that represents the overall theme of your wedding, whether it is a destination wedding on a beautiful tropical paradise or a traditional formal event, the decision has been made and the kits have been purchased.  Now comes perhaps the most overlooked yet most crucial element in your wedding invitation.  Wedding invitations wording

To make your invitation stand out and really represent you both as a couple, wedding invitations wording is critical.  It is true that wedding invitations may be the least important thing on your list of wedding planning, but it can be one of the most important.  If you have not taken your invitations seriously up to this point, you should start to really focus in on them as they will be the first representation of you and your spouse to be to the world.

A poorly written, mistake ridden invitation is a very poor representantion of yourself to your guest and will likely be received that way.  If it is not important enough to spend some time creating a lovely invitation, then what will the wedding be like?  The wedding invitation will be the first impression your guests will have and it is very important to make sure the wedding invitations wording represents your wedding as a whole.

One of the first steps in wording your invitation is to form a synergy between your design and the wording.  In other words, the wording of your invitation should match the overal theme of your wedding.  If your wedding is a casual, beach theme then your wording should be casual as well.  Usually a beach wedding is a small, intimate setting and the wording on the invitation should reflect that setting.

Some things to consider before getting started:  What time do you want guests to arrive at the ceremony?  It is a good idea to ask guests to arrive 15 minutes prior to the ceremony taking place.  Also, is there a reception and where will it be held?  Time and place, is music being provided? food?  All of these things need to be thought out before putting pen to paper.

Make a list – any guests with dietary issues so you can be sure there is something for everyone at the event.  Some couples include dress attire, helpful for those who aren’t sure if the dress will be formal or casual.  If the event is very formal, it is probably a good idea to note that for your guests.

Great, so what should be included on the invitation:

1.  The bride and groom’s full names
2.  Details of the event; location and address (make sure the address is detailed, including city, state name and zip code) Don’t assume people will already know these things. (Fully spell the date and time and even write the year in full)
3.  The day and date with the exact time of the event
4.  Include directions (if necessary) and numbers to call in the event of problems or delays

You need to specify the wedding reception address in the last line on the invitation.

Be concise and to the point but don’t skip over details.  You don’t want your invitation to be a document or letter but you want it to have enough information for the guests so there is nothing left to chance.

Remember, your invitation is the very first representation of your wedding.  Make it special and enjoy this happiest of times as you plan for your big day.

You can have your fairytale wedding even with a limited budget and create your own beautiful wedding invitations wording for that one of a kind, special invitation.

Take your time, do your research and enjoy the most beautiful day of your life.
